Lucia Salgarollo

Choreographer, researcher and certified Breathwork – Sport Performance Coach, working across:

  • Trained in Verona, she went on to develop her practice in contemporary dance with international institutions including ICK Dance Company (NL), Spellbound Contemporary Dance (IT), Batsheva Dance Company (ISR) and Martz Contemporary Dance Company (ES).

  • Q-Motion Dance Technique© instructor (Martz Methodology – Neuroscience & Dance) and Science of Breathing™ Coach (YB – Yoga Alliance, ACE, ICF).

  • Diploma in Sport Performance Coaching (Universitas Mercatorum, Rome); certified Practitioner of the Society of NLP™ (Richard Bandler, USA).

  • Associate choreographer with ErsiliaDanza, directed by Laura Corradi (Verona), and with the Italian collective ECHOMOTION.

  • Teaches in professional settings, developing projects that integrate contemporary dance, choreographic research, neuroscience, breath regulation, performance enhancement for athletes and dancers, and the natural environment.

  • Her work has been featured in national artistic programmes and in international contexts such as Fuorisalone Milano Design Week, ITSLIQUID International Art Fair (Venice Biennale), and The Holy Art Gallery (London/Tokyo/Athens).

  • Since 2023, she has been leading an artistic-scientific research project on high-altitude performance in the Mont Blanc area, investigating the impact of the hypobaric environment on the neurophysiological adaptation and performance dynamics of the athlete-dancer.

  • She currently collaborates with EIMS – European Institute of Movement Science, as part of a working group in Dance and Neuroscience involving Martz Contemporary Dance Company (Spain), Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Institute of Art Barcelona, City St George's, University of London, and Compañía Nacional de Danza (CND) – Madrid.

  • As an EIMS collaborator, she contributes to the development of performance-support protocols for dancers and has delivered sessions as Breathwork Coach at the Compañía Nacional de Danza (CND) – Madrid.

  • She was selected for an artistic residency at IAR – El Chaltén (Patagonia), as part of her research project on glaciers as a space of inquiry into environmental transformation, bodily adaptation, and performance practice.

  • She was selected as choreographer for the Resid'And project at the National Dance Academy of Rome, for the year 2027.
